The Jellyfishbot, developed by IADYS in 2016, is a robotic cleaner emphasizing practical design and versatility to combat water pollution effectively. Launched in 2018, it has revolutionized how marinas, ports, and other hard-to-reach areas are cleaned, thanks to its thoughtfully engineered design. Unlike larger machines that often struggle with precision, the Jellyfishbot is compact and agile, allowing it to navigate tight spaces and around obstacles. This capability makes it ideal for handling various tasks, from picking up everyday debris like plastic waste to managing more severe environmental threats like oil spills. Its design is not just about getting into difficult areas; it ensures those areas are thoroughly cleaned.

IADYS has created several models of the Jellyfishbot, each tailored to specific tasks:

Jellyfishbot Classic: This original model is well-suited for general cleaning tasks in marinas, ports, and smaller bodies of water. Its compact design and ability to be remotely operated make it particularly effective in accessing and cleaning areas that larger vessels cannot reach, making it a reliable choice for routine maintenance.

Jellyfishbot Expert: Building on the Classic’s foundation, the Expert model integrates advanced sensors that provide real-time water quality monitoring and depth measurement. It’s designed for more complex environments, such as industrial sites, where it can handle cleaning and environmental monitoring, making it an efficient dual-purpose tool.

Jellyfishbot Mobile Oil Skimmer: This model is specifically engineered to respond to oil spills. It efficiently skims oil from the water’s surface without needing disposable materials, reducing costs and environmental impact. The design allows it to operate in narrow, shallow areas, making it particularly effective in sensitive environments like riverbanks.

Jellyfishbot Custom: IADYS offers a custom version of the Jellyfishbot for clients with unique or specialized requirements. This model can be equipped with additional sensors, tools, or features to meet specific environmental challenges, ensuring the robot is fully capable of addressing the exact needs of any situation.

The differences between the Jellyfishbot and a consumer product like the Beatbot iSkim Ultra, reviewed by Yanko Design, are significant in terms of design and application. The iSkim Ultra is designed especially for pool cleaning, focusing on high-speed, efficient debris removal within the controlled environment of a swimming pool. Its design emphasizes quick and thorough cleaning of a confined area, ensuring the pool remains clear of debris like leaves and dirt.

On the other hand, the Jellyfishbot is built to operate in much more varied and complex environments. It’s designed for natural and industrial water bodies, tackling larger-scale challenges such as macro-waste, oil spills, and environmental monitoring. While the iSkim Ultra excels in maintaining the cleanliness of swimming pools, the Jellyfishbot’s versatility and adaptability make it suitable for a wide range of outdoor water cleanup tasks that demand more robust and flexible solutions.

Both robots share key design elements, such as compactness, maneuverability, and the ability to operate autonomously or under remote control. These features highlight their shared emphasis on providing user-friendly, automated solutions for surface cleaning in water environments. However, the Jellyfishbot’s design includes additional capabilities, such as sensors for water quality monitoring and the ability to manage hazardous waste, which extends its utility far beyond the iSkim Ultra.

After reviewing the Beatbot iSkim Ultra, Yanko Design recommended enhancing its functionality by incorporating features that pool owners care about. These features include monitoring pH levels, analyzing water chemistry, and recommending chemical adjustments. Such upgrades would transform the iSkim Ultra from a device focused solely on surface cleaning into a comprehensive pool management tool, addressing a broader range of maintenance needs. While the iSkim Ultra currently excels in clearing debris from the water’s surface, these potential enhancements would align it more closely with the Jellyfishbot’s multifunctional approach, offering users a smarter, more integrated solution for pool care.

The variety within the Jellyfishbot lineup reflects IADYS’s commitment to addressing diverse environmental challenges with specialized tools. Each model is crafted to meet specific needs, whether it’s handling routine debris in marinas or dealing with the complexities of oil spill cleanup. The Jellyfishbot’s design focuses on delivering functionality and efficiency, ensuring that, regardless of the task, there’s a model equipped to tackle it effectively.

In contrast, the Beatbot iSkim Ultra is purpose-built for the specific environment of swimming pools. Its design is tailored to quickly and efficiently clean this controlled environment, where debris is typically more predictable and less hazardous than what the Jellyfishbot encounters. While the iSkim Ultra handles its intended job with precision, the Jellyfishbot’s range of models is engineered to tackle a broader spectrum of water cleaning tasks, especially in environments where precision and adaptability are crucial.

Tangled outdoor furniture concept provides rest and direction for communities

]]>

Residential complexes and small communities are on the rise, and some of these areas try to provide open spaces for rest and relaxation like parks or gardens. People new to such communities might find themselves often lost in the beginning, and guests or couriers will definitely be unfamiliar with the place. Signs aren’t always visible, and those that are might not blend well with the aesthetics and atmosphere of the residential complex. This concept design tries to hit multiple birds with a single stone by providing multi-functional furniture that not only looks like an art installation but also a rather subtle navigation guide for both residents and guests.

Designer: Alice Vakhni

Unlike typical home and office furniture, outdoor furniture offers only temporary respite for people. They’re not exactly the most comfortable products to use, especially since they have to be built to withstand unfavorable weather, but they do offer a place to sit, put down their things, or maybe even work and eat even if only for a while. Ironically, this also frees up outdoor furniture design from certain requirements, allowing them to embrace more unconventional forms, as long as they get the job done.

THREADS is an example of such freedom, conceptualizing furniture that hardly looks like any typical benches or tables. They look more like giant metal thread, hence the name that snakes and loops around the complex, one segment at a time. Some have wavy structures with crests that provide stools for people to sit on, while others coil around structures like benches and tables. Some rise upward to become lamps, while others branch and loop to show directions.

That’s the second not-so-obvious function of THREADS. Just like how Theseus used threads to navigate the labyrinth, the large pipes guide your eyes and your feet in the direction you need to go. They act like railings and guidelines that bend in the direction you should be walking if you’re a bit lost. Of course, not all residential communities have the same layout, so the pipes’ modular design allows builders to combine different parts with different corners to create the navigation system they need.

THREADS is also a piece of art, like an abstract sculptural installation designed to give communities a distinct character. The almost freeform flow of the “threads” leaves each segment open to interpretation and any use. Made with powder-coated hot-rolled steel pipes, what would normally convey an industrial and impersonal appearance transforms into something playful and approachable, becoming the proverbial thread that binds communities together.

Of course, the future of van camping is electric. Arguably, in that future, the much-anticipated all-electric ID.Buzz from Volkswagen is going to be the lead. This modern, electrified variant of the retro VW Bus was expected in a campervan variant. Still, the company thought otherwise, and pushed the release back to fall 2024, citing lack of demand on the market as the reason for its thoughtful delay.

Before the camper version of the electric VW Bus can hit roads, there is a hardcore VW campervan repair and restoration outfit in Seattle, United States, by the name of Peace Vans that has introduced three fitting options to uplift the 2025 ID.Buzz into a capable campervan right from the word go when launched. Two options: either purchase an ID.Buzz directly from Peace Vans with your choice of the camper conversion option, or bring your own vehicle and return with it ready for the camping excursions.

Designer: Peace Vans

Peace Vans has been at the forefront of retrofitting Volkswagens with camping solutions. Furthering its experience, it has three customizable units for camping enthusiasts who want their ID.Buzz to an adventure-ready vehicle. These are Buzz.Box, Buzz.Box.Sleeper, and Buzz.Camper. Ideal for tailgating or a day ride with a kitchen integrated into the back of the vehicle, the campers can go with the Box. But if you want the Box with a sleeping solution, opt for the Sleeper or you can go with the Camper for a full-fledged camp on wheels with a queen bed and indoor kitchen.

The Box, as we said, is designed for day trips. It comprises a kitchen complete with an integrated cooktop, a fridge, a sink, and some prep area. The Box would fit in the back of the ID.Buzz and would require the third-row seats removed to accommodate the kitchen setup. If you want some sleeping area along with the Box kitchen – so you can spend at least a weekend in the wilderness – choose the Sleeper option that includes a fold-out bed to transform the back of your van into a comfortable sleeping area.

For the more hardcore, of course, is the Camper add-on that would convert the ID.Buzz into an ultimate adventure van with a fully functional internal kitchen, a queen-sized bed, storage cabinets, and much more. The Camper unit would require the removal of both rows of seats, leaving you with just two seats up front. If you’re a couple wanting a campervan, you shouldn’t look beyond this. To make the integration somewhat lucrative for you, the three units are fairly priced by Peace Vans. The Buzz.Box would be $7,995, while Buzz.Box.Sleeper would cost $10,995. The price of the Camper unit is still under wraps even though the company has started taking pre-orders for all its variants with delivery expected in November.

We’ve heard of wearable ACs, but a wearable fridge is definitely uncharted territory.

Say hello to the Litheli FrozenPack, a backpack that ISN’T made for carrying clothes or tech. Instead, it’s designed to carry food and beverages… specifically the chilled kind. Modeled on the shape and size of a wearable backpack, this refrigerator has a 16-liter capacity for carrying drinks or food, a battery pack that chills your food down to -20°C (-4°F) for up to 6 hours, and an insulated design that keeps food chilled for another 4 hours with the power unplugged. The FrozenPack is compact enough to travel in cars with you while tailgating, or even on your back if you’re hiking to a campsite or to a place where cars can’t reach. You can either power it directly for hours via a power cable, or opt for the On-The-Go kit which equips you with two swappable battery packs… and no, it isn’t like those insulated beer coolers – it’s quite literally a wireless, wearable refrigerator capable of chilling drinks and preserving frozen food.

Designer: Litheli

I’m not a person built for the outdoors. I do love the outdoors, but mankind developed indoors for a reason. Life indoors is comfortable. You’ve got a roof over your head, you’ve got WiFi, television for watching movies and shows, and a fridge full of snacks to eat. You don’t get all those comforts outdoors… or rather, you didn’t until now. The Litheli FrozenPack brings the final frontier of indoor comfort to the outdoors. With an incredibly high capacity-to-volume ratio (which means more storage in a smaller form factor), the FrozenPack is compact and lightweight enough that you can strap it on your shoulders like a regular backpack. In fact, it looks like a backpack in every regard, with adjustable straps, pockets, pouches, and mesh holders for extra supplies… but its pièce de résistance is revealed when you open the backpack’s lid to find yourself with what’s essentially 16 liters of fridge-space.

The storage space is perfectly optimized for carrying your drinks or food efficiently. The FrozenPack can snugly fit 10 large beverage cans along with 9 bottles in its cooler compartment, or even store multiple packs of canned food. If you’re looking to stash ice cream, the fridge’s adjustable temperature setting lets you crank the cooling down enough to store ice cream or frozen food. The FrozenPack’s temperature can be configured using a control panel on the front that also houses a display that tells you the fridge’s inner temperature as well as its battery level. The fridge’s temperature can be micro-adjusted between a range of -4°F to 68°F, allowing you to change settings based on the kind of stuff you’re storing within the FrozenPack. This eventually also affects the fridge’s run time, with the highest running time being an impressive 8 hours on Eco Mode. The small size means cooling happens much faster too, allowing the Litheli FrozenPack to go from regular to chilled in just 15 minutes, and with an operating noise level of below 35dB, the FrozenPack is even quieter than your conventional kitchen fridge.

Powering your adventures is the U20 IPS SUPER BATTERY, a one-stop solution for the Litheli ecosystem. With a revolutionary design that allows it to exist outside the fridge instead of built into it, the 74Wh battery pack can be removed on demand or swapped out for a fresh one, allowing you to keep your fridge running for longer. This powerful battery unit delivers north of 6 hours of chilling and even doubles as a power bank for your other electronic devices, keeping you connected on and off the grid. If and when the battery runs out, the fridge still holds its temperature for a solid 4 hours, thanks to a thin yet incredibly efficient TPU840 fabric exterior, along with a PU and EPE inner lining that perfectly insulates your food without adding bulk to the design.

But the true test for any outdoor fridge lies in its ability to withstand the elements. The Litheli FrozenPack tackles bumpy roads with ease. Advanced sensor technology ensures tilt protection, allowing it to operate normally even at inclines of up to 40°. Plus, anti-shock functionality minimizes spills and keeps your food secure – even on the roughest terrains. While carrying the fridge on your back, padded shoulder straps and a sternum strap ensure the FrozenPack stays on comfortably, and add-on brackets let you easily attach the fridge to your car or motorbike/scooter while on the go too.

The Litheli FrozenPack’s design is perfectly suited for travel, with straps, flaps, and pouches galore that make it ruthlessly functional while still being fairly weatherproof. Each FrozenPack Standard Kit comes with a power cable for wired use, although if you want to experience the power of the battery-powered FrozenPack, upgrading to the On-The-Go kit gives you two swappable battery modules (along with that power cable), effectively allowing you to double your fridge’s run-time while outdoors!

If you’re someone who loves to live in the wilderness in a camper van, you wouldn’t really mind the peace of mind and convenience that a towable little attachment capable of being your cargo hauler, a dining area, a small kitchen or a wardrobe, whatever you may like, can offer.

The Bbox Bulli Edition by mfi camperlife GmbH in Germany is this towable little companion – designed primarily for the Volkswagen camper vans – that will be your ultimate companion at the base camp. Not just for its versatility but also for the compact size in which the Bbox Bulli can store up so much cargo that your van can be cleared up on the inside for comfortable travel on the road.

Designer: Wolf-Box Design

The convenience of a tiny towable behind your Bulli is not an inexpensive deal by any standard. If you have upward of $13,000 (€11,900) to spare for an extension of your van-living quarters, you shouldn’t think the second time. But if you choose to get one, the excitement is not going to stop at the extension itself, you can get mfi to customize the Bbox Bulli Edition to the color and theme of your ride (now maybe the price seems a little fair).

Of course, this contraption is primarily meant to tow behind a Volkswagen camper van, but there seems to be no reason why you cannot have it in tow of any multi-purpose vehicle that you may drive. When in tow, the Bbox Bulli, comprising a fiberglass-sandwich body and weighing 880 lbs, can be used as an outdoor kitchen and dining using a camping stove and fold-out table. There are two side closets with configurable shelves to carry water canisters, coolers and other gear, which otherwise tend to clutter up the camper van space side.

For those who are wondering how much this little guy can carry, the Bbox Bulli Edition, mfi informs, can carry 660 lbs of payload and has integrated lighting for convenience and jazzing up your camp. Measuring 37 inches deep and 87 inches tall, its tow bar stretches forward from the body, doubling the total length to up to 80 inches.

The Onewheel Pint X delivers thrilling rides and great range but make sure its features fit your riding needs and style.

Looking for a thrilling way to navigate city streets or explore your local park? The Onewheel Pint X offers a compelling mix of excitement and practicality in personal electric vehicles. With its sleek design and robust performance, the Pint X is perfect for urban commuters and adventure enthusiasts. I was intrigued by the Onewheel experience, and the Pint X delivered the enhancements I sought, providing impressive speed and range for longer rides without frequent stops for charging. With a powerful 750W Hypercore motor that propels you up to 18 mph, this board offers a ride reminiscent of snowboarding or longboarding, making it an enticing lifestyle choice rather than just a means of transportation. If you’re ready to dive into the world of electric mobility and experience the freedom it offers, the Onewheel Pint X might be your ideal ride.

Designer: Kyle Doerksen + Onewheel

Design and Aesthetics

The Onewheel Pint X combines sleek, modern design with functionality, making it an attractive option for those seeking a stylish and portable personal electric vehicle. With dimensions of 8.75 x 10.5 x 27 inches and weighing 27 pounds, the board is compact yet robust, offering easy maneuverability in urban settings. Its minimalist aesthetic with vibrant color options lets riders express personal style while maintaining a polished look.

The integrated Lightbar on the footpad enhances the board’s futuristic design and provides practical functionality, serving as both a battery indicator and a riding alert. This thoughtful design emphasizes simplicity and ease of use, housing all components compactly while maintaining a streamlined appearance. The low center of gravity and wide tire offer excellent stability and control, making the Pint X adaptable to various terrains.

The Pint X’s design also pays homage to the original Onewheel concept while incorporating modern enhancements that cater to today’s riders. The robust aluminum frame ensures durability, while customizable color options for the bumpers and rails let riders personalize their boards to match their style. The pint-sized form factor of the Pint X doesn’t just make it easier to store and transport; it also gives it a playful, approachable aesthetic that invites riders of all levels to give it a try.

2008: Onewheel prototype 1: The first rideable prototype had a chain-driven motor and the bare essentials. Old Iron Sides is now its affectionate nickname.

Ergonomics

The Onewheel Pint X is designed with rider comfort and usability in mind, featuring a built-in Maghandle for easy carrying when not in use. This feature makes the board convenient to transport in crowded areas or up flights of stairs. Riding the Onewheel is the most fun I’ve had since my teens, popping wheelies on my BMX bike. While there is a learning curve, many new riders find it manageable with practice. The board’s intuitive control system uses pressure-sensitive footpads for smooth acceleration and braking, mimicking natural movements. At the heart of this system is a combination of sensors, including a Hall Effect sensor and an accelerometer. These sensors interpret your body’s movements and translate them into seamless control, making the ride feel intuitive and responsive. This allows riders to accelerate by leaning forward and decelerate by leaning back, creating a natural and engaging riding experience.

For beginners, the Simple Stop feature is particularly beneficial. It allows the rider to come to a gradual stop by leaning back, reducing the risk of falls and helping build confidence. The wide tire is surprisingly responsive, allowing for nimble turns and adjustments to posture. Riders are advised to start practicing in open areas like parking lots or grassy fields and to wear shoes with good grip for better control and stability. Regular practice helps strengthen stabilizer muscles, making rides smoother and more comfortable over time.

Performance

Curiosity about the Onewheel experience led me to try out the Pint X, which promised enhancements in speed and range. The Pint X offers a perfect balance between power and agility, making it an exciting upgrade. With a 750W Hypercore motor, the board reaches a top speed of 18 mph, providing a thrilling ride whether commuting through the city or exploring parks. The range of 12 to 18 miles on a single charge is a significant improvement, allowing for longer adventures without constant recharging.

Riding the Pint X feels liberating, as the increased speed and range mean I no longer need to plan my routes meticulously or worry about running out of battery mid-ride. The powerful motor also delivers extra torque, making the board more responsive when changing directions. The Onewheel relies on a rate gyroscope, which helps maintain balance by measuring orientation and angle changes. This technology ensures stability even as you navigate challenging terrains, making it easier to learn and control. While initially a bit “squirrely,” the wide tire quickly becomes second nature, allowing for smooth and agile turns.

The Onewheel Pint X features four customizable riding modes, or Digital Shaping modes, that can be adjusted through the Onewheel app to match your riding style:

Redwood: Offers a smooth ride with a top speed of approximately 12 mph, ideal for leisurely rides and where I felt most comfortable starting as a beginner.

Pacific X: A relaxed mode that balances speed and control, quickly becoming my second favorite, making it easy to handle for a more casual experience.
Elevated X: Raises the front of the board, helping you tackle steep inclines or perform tricks with greater ease.
Skyline X: A responsive mode with a maximum speed of about 18 mph, providing an adrenaline-pumping experience.

From the moment I started riding, the Pint X’s performance was apparent. The speed and handling capabilities offered an adrenaline rush with every ride, making it easy to lose track of time while exploring. The improved range means I can focus on the ride rather than constantly checking the battery level.

However, the performance improvements come with a few trade-offs. The thicker front bumper, intended for symmetry, sometimes drags during sharp turns or when recovering from drops. It reduces ground clearance, causing occasional nosedives and making curb navigation tricky. The extra weight of the board, while not drastic, does impact its agility, making it feel less snappy during tight turns. The shared tire with the regular Pint feels less secure at higher speeds, requiring constant vigilance to avoid bumps and obstacles that could cause a wipeout.

Sustainability

While sustainability isn’t heavily marketed, the Pint X is built with durability in mind, using high-quality materials to ensure longevity. This reduces the need for frequent replacements, supporting a more sustainable approach to personal transportation. Manufactured in the U.S., the Pint X aligns with sustainable practices by ensuring quality control and minimizing the carbon footprint associated with overseas shipping.

Value and Verdict

At the time of this review, the Onewheel Pint X is available at a starting price of $1,100, making it a more accessible option in the electric skateboard market. Despite this competitive price, the board offers exceptional performance, durability, and versatility. The Pint X has become a staple for many riders, providing a blend of speed, range, and portability that’s difficult to find elsewhere.

The Pint X offers a compelling package for those seeking an exhilarating ride experience. The powerful hub motor allows riders to glide through traffic with ease, while the electric transmission system eliminates the need for gear shifting. The wide deck provides excellent traction and stability, securely holding the rider’s feet in place, whether navigating sharp turns, tackling hills or speeding along sidewalks. The puncture-resistant liner on the wheel enhances safety, making it a reliable choice for long-distance travel on rough trails.

However, potential buyers should be aware of a few considerations. The Pint X is not waterproof, so exposure to water can damage the battery and affect motor functionality. The fixed acceleration might be too intense for some users who prefer customizable speed settings. Additionally, while competitively priced, the Pint X still represents a significant investment compared to other e-boards with similar features.

Is the Onewheel Pint X the right fit for you? If you’re looking to embrace the thrill of one-wheel riding while enjoying the convenience and innovation that the board offers, it could be an excellent choice. We’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences with the Pint X. With its thoughtful design, ergonomic comfort, and impressive performance, it remains a top choice in the personal electric vehicle market. Share your insights and join the conversation about this exciting rideable!

What we like

Caravans, also termed travel trailers or RVs, are increasingly popular for their blend of comfort and style while exploring the world. These compact mobile homes offer the comforts of home while journeying to various destinations. A notable feature of owning a caravan is the ability to personalize the interior to match individual preferences and needs. Simple changes in decor ideas can help achieve your desired look by adjusting or adding elements like upholstery, window treatments, carpets, rugs, shower curtains, bedding, planters, foliage, art, buntings, and other decorative items.

When choosing interior color schemes for your caravan, prioritize hues that create a sense of spaciousness and maintain longevity. Begin with a neutral base palette, allowing room for color accents through bedding, upholstery, and accessories. Consider earthy tones like blues, greys, greens, and whites, alongside pastel shades, with beige, cream, or your preferred neutrals seamlessly complementing wood paneling and visually expanding your space. Whether renovating an older caravan or adding personalized touches to a new one, here are some ideas to kickstart your design journey.

1. Multifunctional and Compact Furniture

Since a caravan comes with limited square footage, it’s important to make the most of every available inch. Therefore, it is important to opt for furniture items that serve multiple functions like a sofa bed can serve as seating during the day and easily convert into a bed at night. This not only optimizes space but also fosters a feeling of openness within the caravan, especially during daytime travel. Opting for a foldable table offers the flexibility of tucking it away when not needed, thereby liberating precious floor space. Consider seeking a table that can be mounted on the wall or ceiling for additional space-saving benefits. Modular furniture provides versatility to rearrange according to your requirements. Look for pieces that can be stacked or nested when not in use, enabling efficient space utilization and ensuring ample room for movement.

2. Enhance the Storage

Storage is often a challenge when embarking on caravan trips, particularly during long journeys or in winter. With so many essentials to carry, space is always at a premium. In smaller caravans, it’s essential to invest in ingenious storage solutions. Consider utilizing under-bed storage boxes, over-door organizers, furniture with ample drawers, and hanging shelves. Make the most of every nook and cranny, including the space beneath seats and in the corners of the caravan.

3. Add Texture

Adding textured accents such as cushions, throws, and rugs is a simple yet effective method to elevate the appearance of a small caravan. These elements contribute warmth and personality to the interior. Furthermore, incorporating wall art can further enhance the aesthetic appeal of the space.

4. Coastal Influences

For coastal and beach enthusiasts, choose a caravan with nautical-inspired interiors and color schemes. Utilize white as the main color to keep the space fresh and airy, essential in small areas. Incorporate various shades of blue for a relaxing coastal feel, and opt for natural materials like wood furniture, decor accessories, and rattan baskets to maintain this style. Consider adding blue and white stripes, reminiscent of classic ship decor, to enhance the nautical theme.

Designers: Fabien Denis, Jean-Marie Reymond x Carapate

As luxury camping vehicles like teardrop caravans become increasingly popular, La Carapate from French manufacturer Carapate distinguishes itself with its innovative design. Sporting a trapezoidal shape and a unique flap door for shade and convenient access, it stands out in the market. Drawing inspiration from nautical themes, its blue and yellow color scheme captures the essence of maritime adventure. With eco-friendly features like a solar panel, La Carapate embodies sustainability and responsible travel. Its panoramic views and compact living space make it an appealing choice for camping enthusiasts seeking a connection with nature and alternative accommodation. Explore its hidden features, such as skylights and USB ports, for an unforgettable camping experience.

5. Rustic Vibes

Achieve a transitional style in your compact caravan by blending modern and rustic elements for a relaxed yet stylish interior. Opt for neutral tones like white or cream for the internal walls, and incorporate cream blinds for added texture. Keep decor accessories predominantly neutral, and integrate natural materials such as rattan lights, baskets, trays, and wooden furniture pieces for an organic touch.

6. Go for Natural Materials

Considering that the caravan will be utilized for exploring natural environments, why not incorporate natural materials into the interior decor? Embracing these materials, such as wood, rustic basins, wood flooring, and breathable fabrics, can enhance the renovation, creating a connection to the surrounding natural landscapes.

7. Bohemian Vibes

The Bohemian style complements the freedom and flexibility of small caravan living. With its adaptable nature, it easily suits most caravan spaces, focusing on a neutral color scheme with hints of green from foliage and natural browns from materials like seagrass and rattan. This achievable and timeless interior design starts with updating the cushions in the dining area, setting the tone for the entire caravan space.

8. Scandinavian Inspired Design

Designer: Hobby

Hobby’s Maxia caravan blends Scandinavian design with hygge living, offering a luxurious city apartment on wheels. Its exterior retains a traditional look with rounded edges and panoramic windows for expansive views. Inside, a focus on simplicity and comfort characterizes the layout, with an L-shaped kitchen featuring modern amenities and a versatile U-shaped sofa doubling as a dining area and bed. The open floor plan ensures ample living space, with a private sleeping area towards the back and smart appliances like Truma Combi heater/water heater and Hobby Connect touchscreen controls enhancing the experience. It’s a stylish and functional retreat for on-the-go travelers.

9. Introduce a Home Office

In the post-pandemic era, there’s a notable rise in camper and trailer demand, offering enhanced adventure experiences and cozy sleeping quarters. These vehicles not only provide ample space for gear but also feature full kitchens, bringing the comforts of home to natural settings. For professionals craving personal space amidst scenic landscapes, these mobile accommodations offer an escape from monotony, making work-life balance more attainable.

Designer: Nissan

The Nissan NV350 Caravan Office Pod Concept revolutionizes remote work by offering a mobile office in scenic locales. Controlled via smartphone, it extends outdoors with one-touch retractable motion, electric shades, and UV antibacterial lighting for hygiene. Featuring a Herman Miller Cosm chair on a polycarbonate floor and adjustable ambient lighting, it prioritizes ergonomic comfort. A rooftop deck provides a luxurious retreat, accessible from inside the vehicle for personal solitude. Unveiled at the Virtual Auto Salon 2021, this caravan exemplifies the future of electric vehicles, offering innovative opportunities for remote work while inspiring creativity in nature.

10. Invest in Luxury

Designer: Adria

Adria’s new Astella caravan epitomizes luxury mobile living reminiscent of 1950s airline opulence, akin to Pan Am, catering to travelers in pursuit of ever-changing dream vacations. Crafted as an inspired, deluxe rendition of the traditional holiday home on wheels, Astella embodies luxury through simplicity. Its open floor layout exudes sophistication with clean lines, amplifying the spacious interior housing living, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom spaces. Astella seamlessly integrates indoor and outdoor living with panoramic glass doors, while its aerospace-grade exterior boasts a sleek glazed steel finish for efficient airflow during towing, promising a luxurious yet functional travel experience.

]]>

2012, when Hoka introduced the Stinson Evo, the running shoe landscape was primarily dominated by minimalist designs prioritizing a light and flexible feel. Hoka, a relatively new brand then, dared to challenge this norm by launching the Stinson Evo, a trail-running sneaker that defied convention with its bold, maximalist approach. Known for its thick, cushioned midsoles, this shoe provided a stark contrast to the minimalist trend, earning it both intrigue and skepticism. However, its unique design quickly gained traction among trail runners, particularly those seeking enhanced cushioning and stability over rugged terrain.

Designer: Hoka

The Stinson Evo was revolutionary not just for its appearance but also for its functionality. The shoe incorporated Hoka’s early “Zero Gravity” technology, which allowed it to maintain a surprisingly lightweight feel despite its substantial midsole. This technology was paired with a “MetaRocker” design, facilitating a smooth, rolling stride that helped runners conserve energy over long distances. Its bold design was completed with a breathable mesh upper and overlays for added support, characteristics that made it stand out in a market saturated with minimalist shoes.

Fast-forward to 2024, and the Stinson Evo OG is coming back, reflecting Hoka’s history and evolution. The brand’s decision to reissue this model coincides with a growing trend toward retro-inspired footwear, where consumers seek the nostalgia of past designs infused with modern technological advancements. The new Stinson Evo OG exemplifies this blend, retaining its original performance features while updating its aesthetics to cater to today’s fashion-conscious audience.

The current Stinson Evo OG is available in a striking “Habanero Red” colorway. This colorway features metallic silver overlays that sweep across the upper, providing a futuristic yet nostalgic look. This vibrant red is complemented by a black-and-white contrast in the midsole and outsole, creating a visually dynamic appearance that is both eye-catching and stylish. The bold color palette aligns with the current trend of using vivid hues in athletic and lifestyle footwear, appealing to those who want their sneakers to make a statement.

Another notable difference in the 2024 model is the inclusion of modern materials that enhance comfort and durability. The mesh upper is more breathable and flexible, adapting to the wearer’s foot for a personalized fit. The redesigned midsole retains the original’s plush cushioning but is now engineered with advancements that offer improved energy return and shock absorption. This makes the Stinson Evo OG suitable for trail running and everyday wear, bridging the gap between performance and lifestyle footwear.

The sneaker’s return also signifies Hoka’s recognition of its role in shaping the running shoe market. When first released, the Stinson Evo was ahead of its time, introducing concepts that have since become mainstream. Today, Hoka is a respected running shoe industry leader known for its commitment to innovation and quality. The re-release of the Stinson Evo OG is a celebration of this journey, inviting longtime fans and new customers to experience the brand’s heritage through a modern lens.

The Stinson Evo OG’s availability through select boutiques like Extra Butter and Sneakersnstuff highlights its positioning within the sneaker culture, where exclusivity and style are highly valued. By labeling the reissue as “OG,” Hoka taps into the sneakerhead community, which appreciates the historical significance and unique design elements of vintage-inspired footwear.

The return of the Hoka Stinson Evo OG is a nostalgic nod to the past while reflecting the brand’s ability to evolve and stay relevant in a changing market. Its retro design and modern technology serve both performance needs and lifestyle preferences, securing its place in Hoka’s renowned lineup.
