Measuring a staggering 9 inches from tip to end, the Greno is fairly larger than any of the flippers or folders we feature here. It comes with a fixed blade design too, and ships with a Top Grain Italian cow leather sheath to help you carry it around wherever you go. The knife’s handle comes crafted from green Micarta, used extensively in the knifemaking industry for its durability, balanced weight, and the unique texture it provides to the handle, giving it a superior grip. A self-taught knifemaker, Shaggs managed to master the art of forging Damascus steel, although their experiments with the Greno are different from any other Damascus steel you’d find on the market. To state things plainly, a lot of the Damascus steel you see today is simply a laser-etched marbling pattern on regular steel. True Damascus steel is created by folding and forging two different kinds of steel together, before acid-etching the blade to reveal a zebra-like pattern. Greno’s take on Damascus steel is similar, but the results are stunningly different. The blade shimmers with a chrome-like finish, but instead of being dual-colored, comes with contour lines, almost like the knife has its own fingerprint.

The blade itself has a drop-point design, a very popular template in the knife world. With a long 4.5-inch edge that culminates in a sharp tip, the Greno is perfect for pretty much any indoor or outdoor tasks. Whittling wood, slicing paracord, cutting meat or veggies, and self-defence, the Greno’s blade holds up remarkably well to any form of abuse. The VG-10 steel is inherently corrosion-resistant and has remarkable edge retention, which means spending more time using the knife and less time sharpening it. The rest of the blade travels through the handle, or what the industry calls a ‘full tang’ format. This effectively boosts the knife’s overall durability and allows you to lean into the Greno while using it. The full tang design means being able to apply forward and downward pressure with ease, along with also being able to twist your knife while using it to do things like open metal cans or gut your hunt.

When all’s said and done, the knife slides right into its cowhide sheath, which encases the blade so it doesn’t accidentally hurt anyone. Studio Entrandan wanted to reimagine this box, this pixel of our everyday life, as something with a little more dynamism and visual vitality… not just for the sake of making a curved box, but for the sake of making a box that’s MORE useful.

To do so, the London-based product design studio looked to the golden rectangle, expanding the box, creating a proportionate ellipse, and carrying the curve to the top and the bottom of the box. The result is a box that still has flat walls, but boasts a curved base and top. Why, you ask? So that the boxes can naturally stack one on another without requiring lips and grooves or any extra details. The idea of redesigning something as fundamental as your everyday box came from playing around with ellipses and having them overlap one another. As soon as the idea began taking shape, the folks at Studio Entrandan immediately mocked up a 3D model and printed it out to test its feasibility. However, their intention was never to make the final product out of plastic. Choosing wood instead, the boxes were given a distinct EDC appeal. Borrowing from Scandinavian design influences (and even from their timber), the boxes look gorgeous when kept on any tabletop surface. Their curved base is cleverly designed to still sit flat on flat surfaces… but the minute you stack them one above the other, they tuck into each other (think of how dinner plates stack on top of another).

The boxes measure 200mm x 80mm (7.8in x 3.1in) and have varying heights for storing different items. They’re perfect for stationery, cutlery, EDC, your bedside belongings, or even tech like cables, AirPods, etc. The set includes 3 boxes and a lid, all of which can either orient one on top of another, or be used independently. Their shape makes them uniquely eye-catching to anyone who has an appreciation of craftsmanship and good design… but ultimately, they’re minimalist pieces that blend into your decor.

Each of the boxes are CNC machined out of a single block of wood, giving them the accuracy you’d probably expect from metal or plastic containers. Curves on the bottom and the top of the boxes are precision-machined to match into each other, allowing the boxes to stack naturally one on another the way plates do. The curves nest into each other in a way that’s appealing to the eye, allowing you to organize your boxes without joineries, magnets, or anything else. “Before production, we usually let our timber rest and acclimate for two weeks,” Huang mentions. “However, because timber is an organic material, it is constantly changing. Factors such as humidity, temperature, and sunlight can alter its shape.” This adds a unique natural touch to your boxes (think of it as a patina), although the makers recommend that if your boxes wobble a little too much because their tolerances no longer match, a little sandpaper does the trick. Followed by a coating of wood oil to restore their waterproofing.

The Tiny 2 builds on the success of the OBSBOT Tiny, which launched in 2019. A companion remote controller lets you micro-adjust the Tiny 2, and even has a Whiteboard Mode, allowing the webcam to focus on a whiteboard in the room, cropping everything out for perfect presentations. Without the remote control, the webcam does have the ability to move around on its own, thanks to a 2-axis gimbal system. A seasoned athlete, Robbins took to the roads to exercise after realizing his sedentary lifestyle was making him gain a lot of weight. Motivation pushed him to get off his office chair and go get some physical exercise – but the late nights proved to be an obstacle to his routine. Regular head-mounted lamps weren’t elegant, and the waist-mounted ones he had were either way too bulky, or didn’t have lights that were powerful enough.
